A. In South Asia in Kathmandu, Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari said that understanding of human rights should not be confined to speeches and writings but it should also be part of our daily lives while inaugurating an International Conference on Human Rights. |
B. National Human Rights Commission of Nepal organised the conference. |
C. “Identifying Challenges, Assessing Progress, Moving Forward: Addressing Impunity and Realizing Human Rights in South Asia” is the theme of the conference.

A. A three-day long ‘Happy Cities Summit 2018‘ in Amaravati inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Founder of Isha Foundation Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. |
B. In the Summit around 1,000 delegates from India and abroad will take part. |

3. As independent gender category in PAN to be recognised Transgenders. |
A. Income Tax rules has ammended by the government which will now allow transgenders to be recognised as an independent category of applicants for obtaining a Permanent Account Number (PAN) for their tax-related transactions. |
B. To help transgenders obtain their PAN card and help them link it with their Aadhaar cards this move is taken. |
C. Only male and female gender categories were available to be chosen on the PAN application form till now.

4. “Scientific Convention on World Homoeopathy Day” inaugurated by VP. |
A. The two-day “Scientific Convention on World Homeopathy Day” inaugurated by the Vice President of India Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu and organized by the Ministry of AYUSH. |
B. More than 1500 delegates attended the convention which included homoeopathic researchers, scientists from allied sciences, practitioners, students, industrialists as well as representatives of various homoeopathic associations.

5. In Agartala first Meeting of the ‘NITI Forum for North East’ held. |
A. NITI Aayog, Ministry of DoNER and the North Eastern Council (NEC) organised the meeting. |
B. Shri Rajiv Kumar said the focus of development projects in the NER will be based on the concept of “HIRA” (Highways, Inland Waterways, Railways and Airways) as spelled out by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his inaugural address. |
C. Also on Education, Health and Skill Development in the region emphasis will be made. |

9. India’s first high speed electric locomotive launched. |
A. By Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Madhepura Electric Locomotive Factory in Bihar India’s first high-speed electric locomotive with 12000 horsepower (HP) engine has been flagged off. |
B. It is first big Make-in-India project developed and completed by Indian Railways in collaboration with French firm Alstome.
